Enriched Air, commonly called Nitrox, contains a higher percentage of oxygen and less nitrogen than regular air. Because divers absorb less nitrogen when breathing enriched air, many divers enjoy longer no-decompression limits and shorter surface intervals, allowing for more time underwater and more flexibility on multi-dive days.

The eLearning program teaches you how to safely plan and dive using enriched air, how to analyze oxygen content in your tank, and how to properly set your dive computer for Nitrox diving.

This course is ideal for divers who want to maximize bottom time, especially when diving on liveaboards, dive vacations, or multiple dives per day.

Course Structure

The PADI Enriched Air Diver eLearning allows you to complete the academic training online using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Once finished, you will meet with an instructor at Southeast Texas Scuba to review the material and complete the practical portion of the course, including analyzing Nitrox cylinders and setting your dive computer.

In most cases, this certification does not require open water dives, making it one of the fastest and easiest specialty certifications to earn.

Course Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 15 years old
• Must be a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification), or enrolled in the PADI Open Water Diver course and PADI Enriched Air Diver course concurrently.
