PADI Open Water Diver eLearning

Start your scuba diving certification from home with the PADI Open Water Diver eLearning program. This convenient online training allows you to complete the academic portion of the world’s most popular scuba certification course at your own pace before beginning in-water training with Southeast Texas Scuba.

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the first step toward exploring the underwater world and becoming a certified scuba diver. Through PADI’s interactive digital learning system, you will learn the essential principles of scuba diving including dive safety, equipment basics, dive planning, underwater communication, and how to dive responsibly.

The eLearning portion is completed online using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Short knowledge reviews and videos guide you through the material, making it easy to learn and understand the fundamentals of scuba diving before entering the water.

Once your eLearning is complete, you will continue your training with an instructor at Southeast Texas Scuba where you will practice scuba skills during confined water dives before completing your open water certification dives at the Blue Lagoon Dive Park.

What Happens After eLearning

After finishing the online training, you will schedule your confined water training sessions with one of our instructors. During these sessions you will practice essential scuba skills in a controlled environment before moving on to your four open water certification dives.

Course Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 10 years old
• Ability to swim and be comfortable in the water
• Complete the required medical questionnaire
