How the Training Works
Step 1: PADI eLearning
Your training begins with online learning that you can complete at your own pace. This covers the fundamentals of scuba diving including safety, equipment, and dive planning.
Step 2: Pool Training
Once the eLearning is complete, we meet at the YMCA in Port Arthur where we complete 5 confined water dives in a heated pool. During these sessions you will learn and practice the essential scuba skills needed for safe diving.
Step 3: Open Water Certification Dives
After pool training, we head to Blue Lagoon in Huntsville, Texas for your final certification dives.
Students will complete 4 open water dives over two days to demonstrate the skills they learned during training.
Blue Lagoon charges $25 per day for entry.
How Long Does Certification Take?
Most students complete their certification in about three days total after finishing the online learning.
The schedule typically looks like this:
Day 1 – Pool training (5 dives)
Day 2 – Open water dives (2 dives)
Day 3 – Open water dives (2 dives)
Once completed, you will earn your PADI Open Water Diver Certification, allowing you to dive anywhere in the world.
